Pedigree of the Day - Perfect Company

Today we are in Seymour to look at a 3yo filly called Perfect Company who is having her first start.  Perfect Company is by Stratum, a son of Redoute’s Choice out of a winning Zabeel mare called Belle Mia.  She is the third foal of the dam, with her first two, Cap Eden Roc and Mia Forza, both by Fastnet Rock, both being winners.

Belle Mia is by an imported Irish mare called Mer Du Sud who produced The Duke, by Danehill who won the Group 1 Hong Kong Mile among his ten wins.  Mer Du Sud is most notably a half sister to Monde Bleu, a stakes winning son of Last Tycoon who still stands at stud in Australia.

In terms of pedigree, we see that Perfect Company has four lines of both Northern Dancer and Natalma, and interestingly three lines of Sir Ivor within her first six generations.  It is certainly a pedigree that holds some attraction, but the jury is still out on whether it is ideal for the family.  In terms of dosage profile we see that her profile reads [0.55/2.38] [10-12-18-0-4].  Again it would seem to be reasonably well balanced, and it would not surprise to see her perform well.  There are more speed influences in the pedigree than those of her siblings, of course that is unless we consider Fastnet Rock as a source of speed in himself.  Overall, we would expect a fairly bold showing from the filly today, and would expect her to win a few races although probably only to around 1600m.
