One of the big races in Perth, the Railway Stakes is always a tough event. The locals usually have few challengers at this time of the year, so they have a good record. This year is no different, and it looks like there are plenty of chances.

In terms of history, we see quite a range of dosages in recent winners. We have seen winners range from 1.80 to 9.40 so it is hard to leave all that many out. Five winners though have had a DI between 3.00 and 3.90. I think that Achernar Star might be the most likely in this range. I find it hard to go past Perfect Jewel whose full brother Galaxy Star won the race last year. A half brother to this pair in Star Exhibit is also in the race this year. The others that look fairly close to past winners look to be Platoon and Tamasa who will both start at big odds but could give some value to the multiples.
