The first Group race in Sydney for the season and it has a pretty good record. The last two winners were Alizee and Pierata suggesting that it is a great lead in to bigger races in the Spring. Let's see if this year is going to throw up a similar quality winner. Now the dosages of the past 10 winners tell a story. None have had a DI under 2.50 which rules out a lot of these first starters that are going to want more ground. Glenall has the lowest dosage of the suited runners this year, and he could be a real chance. Our most common range though is from 3.00 to 3.30, and around 3.80. Special Reward is a strong chance, but perhaps not ideally suited even though it will be among the favourites. Le Romain and Signore Fox will both be big odds but these two look the right type for the race, and it could be a great swansong for Le Romain who has been a top line sprinter for many years. Our last three winners have DI's around 5.40 and over 12 so if you like Eduardo, he is pretty close while Hightail has the highest DI of the field. I think a couple of dollars on Le Romain and Signore Fox at big odds should make a decent return.
