I grew up not far from a racetrack, and many of my family members had a strong interest in the sport from training to punting.  As a result, I spent a lot of time at racetracks and simply found the thoroughbred the most magical of all animals.  There is little that comes close to their beauty, grace and sheer power.

But, after years of looking at pedigrees, and racing performances, there were always questions.  Especially why full brothers don't perform the same, and why one sire fails and another succeeds.  It was an early era of the internet, and I discovered a wonderful computer program called Tesiopower which had a dosage function.  I had never heard of the study, but did some investigation.  It was then that I experienced one of those Eureka moments.  Through the use of dosages, I had a framework that explained all of the things that had puzzled me for years.  The enduring and predictable influences of the great lines, and the balancing of these within a pedigree all made sense.  

My aim is to continue to understand more of the wonderful thoroughbred.  I hope you can join me in this fascinating adventure.
